Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson Will Battle it Out in Foot Locker Three-Point Contest in Toronto
Golden State Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will continue their rivalry in the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest in Toronto, bringing the Splash Brothers back to an event that may have supplanted the dunk contest as the most entertaining of All-Star Weekend.
Curry, the defending champion, hit 13 in a row last year, fighting off Thompson and Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving in the final.
The NBA on Thursday named participants for the events set for Feb. 12-14. All-Star Saturday night also will include the Verizon Slam Dunk Contest and the Taco Bell Skills Challenge.
Facing Curry and Thompson are Clippers guard J.J. Redick, Bucks swingman Khris Middleton, Rockets guard James Harden, Heat forward Chris Bosh, Raptors guard Kyle Lowry and Suns guard Devin Booker.
In the dunk competition, Zach LaVine of the Minnesota Timberwolves will defend his 2015 title against Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons, Will Barton of the Denver Nuggets and Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic.
The skills competition, a new event that features big men and guards competing against each other, will include guards Patrick Beverley of the Rockets, C.J. McCollum of the Blazers, Isaiah Thomas of the Celtics and Jordan Clarkson of the Lakers, and big men DeMarcus Cousins of the Kings, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Timberwolves, Anthony Davis of the Pelicans and Draymond Green of the Warriors.
