Simply Recipes Meal Plans and Gatheredtable
Hi everyone! For the last couple of months I’ve been working behind the scenes with Mary Egan, co-founder and CEO of Gatheredtable, a powerful, really easy-to-use menu planning service to create customized Simply Recipes meal plans. I’m honored to be Gatheredtable’s first food blog partner!
Mary’s team and I have been sifting through over 1500 recipes on Simply Recipes to find the ones that we think will work best together for nutritious, balanced meals. We’ve set it up so there’s a variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, and mains are paired with sides that work well with them.
The concept is simple. After you sign up, each Friday you get a menu of Simply Recipes meals for the coming week, including 4 nights of main dishes, and a dessert.
With the Gatheredtable app you can customize your weekly menu any which way you want. Move meals from one day to the next, add recipes from Gatheredtable, or clip recipes from anywhere on the Internet and add them to your menu.
Once you have the week’s menu you want, the app generates a shopping list. Check off what you already have, add more of what you might need, and head to the store! You can even email the list to someone else if you’re not the one doing the shopping.
When it comes time to cook, the full recipes are right there in the app.
One of the things I love about Mary is that she shares the same philosophy that I do when it comes to food—what we care about is helping people prepare wholesome meals at home.
Mary founded Gatheredtable to help make the whole process easier. According to her, “if you don’t plan, you don’t cook!” Or at least not as often you could.

There’s nifty video explaining how the service works. If you sign up for a trial, you’ll get 2 weeks of menus, free!
This is a big experiment for me and I would love your feedback. Please take it for a spin and let me know what you think. Recipes improve with suggestions and so do services like this!
Cheers,
~Elise
p.s. A couple of you pointed out to me that I forgot to mention the price! It’s $10/month for a monthly subscription or $86 for an annual subscription.
