The Raptors have signed undrafted Ohio State guard Shannon Scott to a partially-guaranteed deal, according to a report from Shams Charania of RealGM.
Scott’s statistics during his senior season weren’t all that impressive. He averaged 8.5 points and 5.9 assists while playing 30.5 minutes per contest, and shot just 28.4 percent from three-point distance.
But plenty of scouts believe he has the tools to develop into a capable point guard at the professional level, if only in a reserve role.
A partially-guaranteed deal means this is only a training camp invite for now, and nothing more. Scott will need to perform well in order to get that final available spot on Toronto’s roster.
